THE HICKS CHRISTMAS!

We had a wonderful time this year. Addie is old enough to open presents and she was so excited. She did not know what she wanted to play with. However she spent the entire evening vacuuming my carpet with my little sweeper or playing with my Homedics Foot Massager.(which I absolutely love).

We had a wonderful time and plenty of food.

Mom was here and she made Addie a Christmas shirt and bought her a baby doll and made her a Christmas shirt and a pair of jeans. I got Kelly a Slanket from QVC, I hope she loves it as much as I love mine.

Tony was sportin' his TN Vols Christmas Hat, We had a blessed Christmas.

BREAKFAST CASSEROLE

1 pound sausage(browned and drained)

6 slices bread,crust removed

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

8 eggs

1 teaspoon salt and pepper

2 cups Half & Half(you can use milk)

1 teaspoon dry mustard

Brown sausage, drain. Layer bread in bottom of 9 x 13-inch well-greased baking pan. Sprinkle sausage over bread. Add cheese. Beat eggs and mix with salt, mustard, and Half and Half. Pour slowly over cheese. Refrigerate overnight. Bake at 325 F. for 45 minutes. Serve hot with jelly.
We will usually have country ham, chocolate gravy and biscuits with this also.
*Be sure and don't put a glass dish in a hot oven!!!! I let it set on the counter a few minutes before I put it in the oven.
*This freezes very well after it is cooked!!

Christmas Countdown!!!!

Well, It will be here before you know it. Christmas, is what I am talking about. It has been so much more fun since Tootie has been born. I have already finished (almost) her Christmas, but she is the only one I have bought anything for as of now. The weather is getting cooler and we have firewood out the wazoo and can't wait for it to get cold enough (inside...we have lots of insulation) to build a roaring fire. We will put the tree in the sunken living room where the fireplace is and that is where we spend most of our time in the winter.
I have added a counter on my blog, counting the days to Christmas. Don't let it sneak up on you like it does me Every Year!!! Well, I've got to get to work, and make some $$$$'s so I can finish my Christmas shopping.
